Ahh, thanks S for buying Bundaberg Lemon Lime and Bitters (not so famous hometown brew) as a treat tonight. Yeap, the icing on the cake for my big day out.
Pauline and I had a grand adventure today, trawling Chinatown, admiring fabric, breaking my 6 month ban on fabric, eating local delights, making a sidetrack to Plaza Singapura for cake (Spotlightand Daiso) and then it was home again home again jiggidy jig. Naturally there was lots of chatting about this and that, and our girls (lovely to feel you are not the only pebble on that beach).
Pauline helped convince me to buy some reversible denim (now all I need is to find a good reversible pinny and/or skirt pattern), could not convince me to buy some goldfish fabric (it was toooooo pink for me) and helped wheel and deal for me (We need to have some Mandarin/Japanese exchange, lah??) Through my partner in crime, Nyonya rice dumplings will be part of regular hawker centre meals. How did I pass up this local yummy delight for so long?? Donnie, you need to try some next week.
Miss CT was over the moon when I walked in the door at about 6:30pm (I slipped out at 9) and showed her all the treasures. Of course I was a legend in her pint sized shoes because mummy brought home Dora stickers. But her eyes popped when she saw the pink chiffon for one of these skirts, the lolly pink polka dots and the pink gingham. Thank goodness, because did you see the toddler clevage?? I would hate to make new outfits (mainly pants) and have her turn her nose up at them.
Today was definately a tonic for me and I feel all refreshed. The low tide that hung around like a wet weekend has been banished (take that pms hormones), a project finally finished and patterns all ready for cut, cut, cutting out!! Thanks Pauline for such an ace adventure.

[...] March 25, 2009 · Filed under Happy Mail, Uncategorized · Tagged Ah-Fat, CT, presents Thank you Pauline (aka Fat-Connection) for this “shopping bag” of fun. CT loves to pull out each item, inspect it, pretend to eat it, drop it, take out the next piece, I think you get the picture. Sometimes her fascination in the bag of felt food can last an hour. There are times when mummy must sit and be fed or one of her dollies, usually she is content to play independently with mummy in the room. We both love the fabric, it was one of Pauline’s Chinatown finds. [...]
