Sharing 2 of the fabrics that I have been cut up for Miss CT as birthday additions to her wardrobe, today. The first fabric on show is a bubble gum pink with fantastic glitter polka dots. It’s a Japanese cotton and has candy pop printed on the selvedge and it was one of the fabrics I bought yesterday in Chinatown. The polka dots make this fabric workable for me as I will readily admit that I loathe pink. Funny how it’s CT’s favourite.
The second is a pink, yellow and white Thai silk linen. Confession time, I bought this a year ago to make an outfit for CT’s first birthday. Actually it was the first piece of fabric that I purchased on Arab St in Singapore, though it was chosen by S (How did he know a year on that she would love pink so??). Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make this up for her birthday as we had just moved, didn’t have a pattern that I liked and more importantly it was not appropriate for a crawler. The fabric is pure luxury and part of me still debates on whether it is appropriate for daily toddler rough and tumble. But her papa agrees with me. It is much too lovely to keep hidden in the stash.
Thank you Tamara for hosting and more stashers can be found here and here.

I’m totally loving the Thai Silk! I could kick my butt for not buying any silk when I was in Thailand, but back then I didn’t sew.

[...] I bought it with this lovely lady almost a year ago. If I remember rightly I was going to make Dorothy something for her birthday using the dots. Never mind if it was 10 months late, no? I found a coordinating print for the dots when I went [...]
